Donald Trump Decorates White House With Infamous Mugshot

Donald Trump has framed a copy of his mugshot in the White House. On Friday (Feb. 14), photos showing The New York Post’s Aug. 25, 2023 issue hanging in Trump’s secretary offices just outside the Cabinet Room and the Oval Office went viral online.

The Post issue in question features Donald’s Fulton County mugshot from 2023, when the embattled politician was arrested and booked for his role in the Georgia subversion case. The 78-year-old was released shortly after his detainment, posting a $200,000 bond for his freedom.

Upon release, Trump would scold the media for what the controversial businessman perceived to be a plot against him, saying, “This is a very sad day for America. I thought the election was a rigged election, a stolen election. What has taken place here was a travesty of justice. What they’re doing is election interference. There’s never been anything like it in our country before… We did nothing wrong at all. We have every right, every single right, to challenge an election we think is dishonest.”

After winning and securing a second term in office, the president has chosen to parade the mugshot around as a badge of honor. According to ABC, the picture has been a part of the Oval Office’s new decor since at least Tuesday (Feb. 4) when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the United States.

Elsewhere, the convicted felon has been hard at work issuing a wave of executive orders to make good on several of his campaign promises. These orders have included pardoning the Jan. 6 rioters, ending diversity, equity, and inclusion across the nation, silencing his rivals, delaying the TikTok ban for political purposes, and more. Trump has moved with a vengeance in his first 26 days in office, and that mugshot hanging in the White House may symbolize what’s to come.
