Christina Milian, Devale Ellis, Kofi Siriboe Star In Netflix’s ‘Meet Me Next Christmas’: First Look

Christina Milian is once again in her rom-com bag and it’s doubling as an early Christmas gift.

The singer-actress stars in the new Netflix film, Meet Me Next Christmas, alongside Devale Ellis (Zatima, Sistas) and Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar, Girls Trip, Really Love).

Per the streamer, the film centers around Layla (Milian) who is “in pursuit of a fairy-tale romance with the man of her dreams.” After meeting James (Siriboe), they plan to reconnect the following year at the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert.

In an effort to score a ticket, Layla finds herself in an unexpected alliance with professional concierge, Teddy (Ellis). “My entire romantic future might hinge on this ticket,” she joked in the trailer.

Milian describes the romantic comedy as a “treasure hunt for love.”

“There’s a sense of magic, love, and anticipation that’s happening through the whole movie. You just never know who they’re going to run into or what’s going to happen next,” she explained to Netflix’s Tudum.

Of her character, she considers Layla to be a “motivated woman,” adding, “Layla is a girl that knows what she wants. She’s got a good head on her shoulders, and when she knows she wants something, she goes for it. She doesn’t let anything stop her.”

Ellis told the outlet that Teddy is selfless and dedicated with a big heart and is eager to help Layla in any way. “You’ll see the sacrifices he makes for his mom. He’s willing to do anything for his cousin. But most importantly, he’s willing to do anything for Layla because he takes his job seriously,” Ellis noted before teasing, “And he’s the best cook.”

He also gushed about the film’s music, particularly from Pentatonix—who appear in the film as themselves.

“When you listen to what the Pentatonix brings to this film, you’ll have no choice but to dance and sing,” said Ellis. “It feels good to be a part of something that’s so huge — working with Christina and the Pentatonix has been great.”

Milian agreed, continuing, “They’re so talented. I love what they infuse in the movie. Even in scenes where they’re just talking, they’re singing. Everybody loves to hear them for real during Christmas time. Making a whole movie built around their amazing talent and putting love and Christmas all around it is a great cherry on top.”

Meet Me Next Christmas will be available to stream on Nov. 6, exclusively on Netflix.
