Chris Tucker Jokes That People Thought Will Smith Smacked Him Instead Of Chris Rock
In what appears to be a recent standup, Chris Tucker poked fun at Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
According to his joke, the Friday star claimed that many people confused Rock with him as the victim, being that they share the same first name.
“Let me tell you why I’m pissed off about that slap with Will Smith and Chris Rock,” he began. “They mixed me up in it. You know? Because we’re Chris’, they thought I got slapped. People was calling my mom phone every night asking, ‘is Chris okay? I heard he got the sh*t slapped out of him.’ ‘Chris is right here rewinding the tape so I can see the slap. Now stop starting rumors.’”
Tucker then went on to joke about how viral the incident was, saying that even Tokyo, Puerto Rico and Africa talked about it. The 52-year-old then offered the take that Rock had to have asked Smith to slap him because “Black people have a sixth sense.”
“If somebody walk up on us unannounced first thing we do — we be like ‘hey what’s up what you want?” He said while backing up, then reiterating, “Y’all should’ve known that wasn’t me, because that show would’ve been over right then and there. Will Smith would not have been walking off stage fixing his jacket on my a**.
He then demonstrated how he would’ve beat up the Bad Boys For Life star. See below.
To refresh memories, Rock, 57, commented on Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head, claiming that she looked like she was starring in G.I. Jane 2. A year before, Pinkett Smith had opened up about her journey with alopecia, citing that as part of the reason why she chose to shave her head.
Almost immediately following Rock’s joke, Smith walked onto the stage and slapped Rock as the Good Hair producer replied, “Wow, Will Smith smacked the sh*t outta me.” After returning to his seat, Smith loudly replied, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu**ing mouth.”
