Charlamagne Tha God Apologizes To ‘Who TF Did I Marry?’ Creator ReesaTeesa For “Big Back” Comment
Charlamagne Tha God has issued an apology to a woman named ReesaTeesa who felt offended by his “big back” comments regarding her viral 50-part TikTok series titled “Who TF Did I Marry?”
On Monday (Mar. 4), The Breakfast Club host addressed his remarks during Jess Hilarious’ segment where she played a recent interview of Reesa on The Tamron Hall Show. In the sit-down with Hall, the woman discussed her quick rise to fame from a series of videos detailing a marriage of hers that was allegedly built on “lies” and deceit.
In response to her videos — which garnered a ton of feedback — Reesa called out a “famous media personality” for his “big back” comments made about her on-air. She alluded to Charlamagne’s remarks as “disappointing” and “hurtful.”
“All jokes aside,” Charlamagne began, “I tell y’all all the time the easiest way to keep your own peace is to not disturb the peace of others. I disturbed that woman’s peace and that wasn’t my intention so I apologize if my words made her feel that way.”
The North Carolina personality also made two points while explaining himself. First, he clarified that he didn’t intentionally body-shame her, as he claimed he never knew what she looked like. He even doubled-down on the sentiment he made initially that no matter what a person looks like “there’s always someone out there for them.”
Secondly, Charlamagne declared that people should keep their personal business to themselves and off of social media if they do not want the public to comment about them.
“I personally feel like we have to stop bringing this stuff to social media if you don’t want people to have an opinion on it,” he said. “Some of this stuff should just be reserved to our therapists if we can’t handle people having an opinion about whatever we are venting about. Keep it off social media.”
