Cardi B Reveals Why She’s Not Voting In 2024 Presidential Election
Cardi B appears to be tired of both Joe Biden and Donald Trump, as she claims she’ll be withholding her vote in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.
In a recent cover story in Rolling Stone, the Bronx rapper expressed her frustration with the current and former President, accusing both candidates of being untruthful to the public and not following through on their word. “I don’t f**k with both of y’all ni**as,” Cardi said of Biden and Trump, the two odds-on favorites to serve the upcoming presidential term. “I feel like people got betrayed.”
The 31-year-old continued, “It’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody. Then, it really gets me upset that there is solutions to it. There is a solution. I know there’s a solution because you’re spending billions of dollars on any f**king thing.
Cardi B has been among the more outspoken rap artists in regards to sociopolitical issues, both locally and nationally. In November 2023, the Invasion of Privacy creator verbally lashed out at New York City Mayor Eric Adams for proposed budget cuts to various city agencies, including New York public schools, public libraries, and sanitation.
“In New York, there is a $120 million budget cut that’s going to affect schools, public libraries, and the police department — y’all know I don’t give a f**k about the cops, but it is what it is. There’s gonna be a $120 million budget cut, with schools, with libraries and the cops… And a $5 million budget cut in sanitation. B**ch, we are gonna be drowning in f**king rats,” she said.
“Mind you — this is why I said ‘I’m not endorsing no f**king presidents no more.’ We got [all these cuts] yet Joe Biden talking about, ‘Yeah, we can fund two wars. We can fund two wars.’ Motherf**kers talkin’ about ‘We don’t got it,’ but we got it. ‘We’re the greatest nation.’ No the f**k we’re not! We’re going through some sh*t right now.”
On the musical front, Cardi B has announced that her long-awaited sophomore album will not be dropping this year and has instead been pushed back to 2025 in order to focus on guest appearances and her personal life.
“NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year,” the hitmaker wrote on social media while clapping back at those lamenting the lengthy wait to the follow-up to her Grammy Award-winning debut. “Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”
