Bruer Proves Mental Dominance With Debut Mind Flay EP – FUXWITHIT
Originally starting his journey in one of the most undeniably influential musical cities in the entire country, Denver, Will Mayer, also known by his Bruer production persona, has always had a yearning to create forward-thinking sounds and craft them into his own unique style. Choosing to plant his roots in Los Angeles and graduating from the illustrious Icon Collective music school, he’s honed his already exceptional prowess and is ready to take the world by storm. With massive success already behind several of his releases like the emotional powerhouse ‘Fall Hard‘ and his delightfully intoxicating ‘WTF‘, he’s showcased a wide range of styles and thoroughly smashed them all. Now, we’ve been blessed with the unveiling of Bruer’s debut EP Mind Flay, a deep dive into just what this youthful artist is truly capable of.
Kicking things off in dramatic fashion, ‘Take You Higher’ ascends your being on a one-way express thrill ride to the heavens. Opening up with what could easily be mistaken for the beginning of a kick-ass action movie, adrenal glands will be working in overdrive to keep up with the ludicrous amounts of hype. Quickly devolving into an interstellar laser cannon of obnoxiously heavy grit, the first drop immediately introduces listeners’ jaws to the floor. A diabolical concoction of trap and dubstep that will surely appease a diverse audience, for fans of getting an A-1 stank face plastered on their face, they need look no further.
Sitting in the 2nd spot on Mind Flay is ‘Nasty’, a piece that readily lives up to its namesake. Wheeling and dealing torrential downpours of bass with mind-abducting melodies that turn listeners into the modern-day equivalent of a whirling dervish, this track touts high-intensity switch-ups and unrelenting grit. A true force of nature, ‘Nasty’ will surely appease even the headiest of bassheads.
Lying in wait in the third spot on Mind Flay is ‘Headshot’, yet another prime example of this youthful audio assembler’s raw talent. Featuring saucy vocal chops, silky smooth low-end purrs, and debilitating brutality, Bruer really went straight for the dome. The sensual transitions between the almost engine-like revs and the crystal-clean wubs create a delightful back-and-forth feeling that forces fans to whip-out their wildest karate chops in the space around them. A damn good time all around, this piece definitely deserves your full attention.
Starting the year off in truly iconic fashion with a debut EP, Bruer aims to make 2021 his year and take the country by storm. Already showcasing a veteran sound and ability to diversify his productions, this is one artist you should keep firmly plastered on your radar for the foreseeable future.
