Breezy Swimwear Sues Chris Brown For Alleged Trademark Infringement Over “Breezy Bowl”
Chris Brown‘s Breezy Bowl XX Tour has touched down in Miami on Wednesday (July 30) to kick off its American leg, however, the title of the trek is being challenged by a Florida swimwear line that has been using the name for years. Breezy Swimwear is suing the singer and Live Nation for allegedly infringing on the trademark in place.
Court documents obtained by TMZ show the complaint was filed today accusing Brown and his team of “eclipsing” the Miami-based swimwear brand with “copy-cat branding.” Attorney John Hoover told the outlet: “Celebrities do not get to overwrite small-business names just because they are famous.”
Breezy Swimwear’s CEO Kris Izquierdo posted the suit on his Instagram, showing it reads: “This trademark action seeks to stop Defendants’ junior ‘Breezy Bowl’ swim line and ‘Breezy Bowl XX’ global tour from eclipsing the goodwill of Breezy Swim, a Miami women-empowerment label whose registered slogan is ‘Every Body is a Bikini Body.’”
The suit explains the brand has been using “Breezy Bowl” as the name of its annual event. “Since 2018, Breezy Swim has sold Breezy-branded swimwear worldwide, and since 2023, staged the Breezy Bowl-an open-call show that welcomes models of every shape, size, age, and experience level,” it went on.
The case also referenced the fan confusion the tour title has caused. It included a message from a potential model who initially inquired participating in a fashion show, but then asked, “OK is Chris Brown gonna be there?” Izquierdo also says he has been using an Instagram page (@breezybowl) to promote his Breezy Bowl events, and the “Run It” singer’s fans regularly get confused and contact the wrong IG account.

Per Breezy Swimwear’s site, the company aims to promote female empowerment and encourage confidence through their designs. “Our mission is all about female empowerment! Here at Breezy Swim we want females to feel confident in swimwear, regardless of age or body shape. Breezy Swim caters to all shapes and sizes inspired by women globally,” reads the About Us section. “Our swimwear gives us the chance for women to feel their best and to take on the world, no matter where they come from!”
