Beyoncé Celebrates Tina Knowles’ No. 1 Memoir At ‘Cowboy Carter’ Second LA Show

Beyoncé shared the stage with her mother, Tina Knowles, during night two of the Cowboy Carter tour in Los Angeles, uniting three generations in real-time. On Thursday night (May 1), fans flocked to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA., for the second round of the icon’s musical rodeo, eager for fan favorite records and appearances from the singer’s daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter.
The heartwarming moment ended in a surprise appearance from the family Matriarch, as Queen Bey celebrated her mother’s memoir reaching No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list.
“Everybody, please say ‘congratulations, Mama T,’” asked Beyoncé of an enthusiastic crowd, who did not hesitate to fulfill the request. The Matriarch book was released by Tina Knowles last month, and topped both the NYT‘s hardcover nonfiction and combined print & E-book nonfiction lists.
Mama Tina’s appearance was not the only new thing about the anticipated concert. Ahead of the event, SoFi launched the HiFi Saloon at the Sassafrass Saloon in Hollywood, allowing select ticketholders to become fully immersed in the Cowboy Carter spirit.
Activities included on-theme nail art, “Cowgirl Carter” cocktails, a Good American denim bar with customization options, and a special Beyoncé listening station with her acclaimed works spinning on vinyl.
VIBE attended along with guests at the pre-event and in-suite at the concert, as well as author and influencer Drew Afualo, actress Mindy Kaling, model Ariana Madix, actress and reality star Chrishell Stause, and more.
The suite hospitality is one of several bonuses available to SoFi Plus members who have access to exclusive perks through their enrollment.

On stage, the Grammy-winner continued to switch the program, adding fan-favorite records to the set list. Changing the pace from Monday’s opening, Beyoncé presented the Bey Hive with performances of “Irreplaceable” (2006), “If I Were A Boy” (2008), “Single Ladies” (2008), and “Love on Top” (2011), all excluded from the early-week show.
Additionally, the 43-year-old rearranged her show, performing “Riiverdance,” “II Hands II Heaven,” and “Tyrant” back to back.
The global icon announced the Cowboy Carter Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit in February of this year, after the album made history at the Grammy Awards, claiming Beyoncé’s first Album Of The Year trophy as well as Best Country Album.
“I just feel very full and very honored. It’s been many, many years,” she confessed in the moment. “And I just wanna thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer—all of the hard work,” she continued as she dedicated the award to Linda Martell.
