Anthony Edwards’ Ex, Ayesha Howard, Demands $500K And Apology Amid Messy Custody Battle

The legal battle between Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and his ex-girlfriend, Ayesha Howard, has taken another heated turn—this time over demands for $500,000 and a public apology.
According to a new filing obtained by Us Weekly, Howard is seeking both monetary damages and a formal statement from Edwards to address what she claims are “false and defamatory or misleading statements” made about her personal character.
The motion, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Aug. 6, comes amid the pair’s ongoing dispute over the custody of their daughter, Aubri.

Court records state that the custody agreement—originally ordered by a judge in May—remains unsigned by Howard.
The agreement’s earlier drafts reportedly included Edwards’ requests for a non-disparagement clause and restrictions on posting photos of their child on social media, both of which Howard’s legal team challenged.
Now, Edwards’ lawyers say Howard is demanding that the NBA All-Star post a public apology “on all of his official social media platforms,” retracting his alleged statements and “affirming her integrity and her role as a mother.”

In addition, she is seeking $500,000 in damages. Edwards has argued that the prolonged dispute is driving up his legal costs. Howard, however, disputes Edwards’ framing of the situation.
“I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders,” Howard told Us Weekly. “I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.”
The custody case between Edwards and Howard has been marked by a series of contentious back-and-forths, with both sides accusing the other of prolonging the process. It remains to be seen if a mutual resolution can be reached between the former lovers turned legal foes.
