Angie Takes The Musical Spotlight In ‘Harlem’ Season 3 Sneek Peek

“J in my A wanna light that sh*t?” is a question proposed by Shoniqua Shandai as Angie in Harlem season three. In the exclusive clip above, she showcases her rhyme skills, taking center stage in the Girls Trip musical in which her character stars.

The light-hearted rhymes reimagine the infamous scene in the 2017 comedy where Tiffany Haddish’s character reveals to the other women that she was actively smuggling drugs through her “bootyhole” while they awaited their boarding process to New Orleans.

In addition to Shandai, the comedic drama stars Meagan Good (Camille), Grace Byers (Quinn), and Jerrie Johnson (Tye) as the quartet of leading ladies. This season, the cast was joined by Kofi Siriboe, Robin Givens, Logan Browning, and Gail Bean.

Harlem returned for its third installment last month in what will be its final season.

“TV continues to evolve, and we are in a different climate than we were in 2018, when I first sold the show. We were hit with several setbacks, including a pandemic shutdown in the middle of production and a strike and, honestly, surviving all of that is already a major blessing. That said, I’d go for many more seasons if it were up to me. But knowing this was the end going into it, I approached it with that in mind. I wanted everyone’s stories to feel satisfying, even if it’s not what the audience expected,” explained show creator Tracy Oliver.
