Angel Reese Pays Off Her Mother’s Mortgage In Emotional Birthday Surprise

Angel Reese recently pulled off the ultimate flex by making one of her mother’s wishes come true on her birthday.
On Thursday (Jan. 30), the 22-year-old invited her mother, Angel Webb Reese, also known as Mama Angel, onto her podcast, Unapologetically Angel, for what seemed like a simple conversation. But little did Mama Angel know, her daughter had something special up her sleeve.
As they talked about life, basketball and family, Reese decided to drop a bombshell on her mom with an unexpected birthday gift: paying off her mortgage in full. “Well, it’s your birthday today,” Reese said as a cake was brought out to celebrate.
“Before we sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ you said that if your mortgage was paid off, you would retire or you wouldn’t work,” the Chicago Sky player said, looking her mom straight in the eyes. “You can pick if you want to work still, but your mortgage today has been paid.”
In shock, Mama Angel nearly dropped the cake before someone swooped in to save it. Nearly speechless and overcome with emotion, she shook her head in disbelief asking, “Are you serious?” Reese then shouted out her team for making it all happen.
“That was my biggest goal in life—to retire you and pay your mortgage,” Reese emotionally told her. “You’re a hard-working woman, you don’t need me for no money.” She also let her mom know she could stay with her whenever she wanted because she’s also planning to buy a house in Chicago this year.
Reese’s exact net worth remains unknown, but along with her WNBA salary, she’s also endorsed by Reebok, PlayStation, Amazon, Raising Cane’s and more. In other words, money isn’t an issue for Reese.
