A Tribe Called Quest To Be Honored By Busta Rhymes During Rock & Roll HOF Induction
A Tribe Called Quest is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with a little help from their friends. On Wednesday (Sept. 25), the official account for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame uploaded a series of posts to Instagram announcing guest performers for the upcoming ceremony.
“You heard it here first: @bustarhymes is officially performing at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction, music’s highest honor,” the caption read. “Don’t miss him performing LIVE on October 19th to celebrate the one and only hip-hop phenomenon @ATCQ. Yeah, we’re buggin’ out.”
They then announced the inclusion of Method Man, Ella Mai, Lucky Daye, Dr. Dre, “and more” who are set to hit the stage to honor Mary J. Blige, who is also being enshrined this year.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame also announced that The Roots would be performing at this year’s ceremony. An IG post stated that the group would hit the stage with a performance of “iconic songs” dedicated to several of this year’s inductees.
Mary J. Blige previously reacted to her induction into the coveted Hall of Fame during an interview with Billboard. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul explained that her fans have made this dream possible for her.
“It means so much because I worked so hard,” the music icon told the outlet. “My fans have given me so much, and when I say, ‘We did it,’ I mean my fans and I. We did this because, without them, there’s no me. Through all my blood, sweat, and tears, suffering, getting up, and falling down, they were there. It means a lot to accomplish something like that.”
Blige and ATCQ’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will go down on October 19. The 2024 Hall of Fame class has a lineup that includes Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, and The Dave Matthews Band.
