euphorian & Skybreak Deliver Irresistibly Jubilant 'joy wave' – FUXWITHIT
Despite being home to some of the biggest names in the bass music scene, Never Say Die have repeatedly supported their fair share of rising talents, and that’s what makes them an elite label. No matter the following, the one guarantee with Never Say Die is quality music. Next on their list of up-and-coming stars is euphorian, a young American producer whose greatest strength is their ability to innovate. From trap to dubstep, euphorian is showcasing groundbreaking skills in their short yet impressive discography, and their newest project titled youth out via Never Say Die is further proof of this versatility.
As the collection is set to drop in full today, we have the extreme pleasure of premiering one of the most impressive tracks from the six-piece EP, namely ‘joy wave’ alongside New Jersey-based Skybreak. Known for his melodic dubstep releases on Disciple, Pilot and more, Skybreak has made a name for himself over the last year, and the joining of forces with euphorian is truly a match made in heaven. About the track, Skybreak shares, “To me, ‘joy wave’ is the sound of unrestricted, aggressive happiness. At the time, I had been overthinking everything I was writing and self-sabotaging every time I tried something new. But working with euphorian was an eye opening experience. The whole writing process had a certain aura of “screw what everyone thinks, let’s just throw shit at the wall!” which has inspired me for months after. I think it’s the perfect blend of our two styles.”
Spanning almost five minutes, ‘joy wave’ is an epic journey through colourful bass music, with euphorian and Skybreak evoking a plethora of emotions throughout. The introduction is scintillating in soundscape and gradually builds in intensity, before the first drop of melodic madness drives listeners to ecstasy with its shimmering synths, complex layering and underlying beauty. Artists often paste the introduction into the bridge for their tracks, but euphorian and Skybreak built a mesmerizing middle section that keeps listeners hooked until the second drop, which is followed by another minute triumphant elation.
“‘joy wave’ is a song of liberation to me, as it’s meant to portray what it feels like to finally feel free from concern over extraneous anxiety and overthinking. When you finally exonerate yourself from all of your worries, it does not rid them of existence, but it manifests them out of your conscious ability to enjoy life and allow love and kindness to come to fruition in your journey,” euphorian adds.
Don’t miss ‘joy wave’ below and keep a close eye on euphorian – they’re up next.
