Monica, Brandy Issue Bossed Up Dress Code For The Boy Is Mine Tour

With Brandy and Monica‘s The Boy Is Mine Tour kicking off next month, many fans were curious to know if the duo would ask concertgoers to adapt a certain dress code, with the pair coming up with a bossy suggestion that speaks to their positions in the music game.

In a post shared to Monica’s Instagram page Thursday (Sept. 18), she relays to followers that she and Brandy would love to see their fans wear suits and/or elements of dress attire, accompanied by a snap of the two songstresses decked out in very different interpretations of the theme.

“Women in Suits Represent STRENGTH • POWER & UNITY…If these images are inspiring to you, be sure to dress accordingly during THE BOY IS MINE TOUR …..,” Monica captioned the carousel of inspo snaps. “There is No Boy, Just Bosses,” she added, tagging her tour partner. Photos of Teyana Taylor, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and others rocking suits were also added to give fans a few ideas. Check out the post below.

Monica later dropped a remark within TNT‘s comment section, clarifying that fans asked for a dress code and that the suit idea is more of a suggestion than a rule.

“PLEASE add we were ‘asked’ repeatedly how should we dress! LOL! Most said 90s? I said too easy, let’s have fun with it! NOT formal NOT mandatory! Make it YOU! It can be sneakers and slacks, shorts and boots, white shirt and a tie with denim DO YOU! Or don’t LAMFAC,” the Atlanta singer wrote.

While concertgoers have always followed the headliner’s lead when it comes to attire, Beyoncé’s 2023 Renaissance Tour solidified dress codes as a part of the live show experience, as she asked fans to don silver ensembles, and later, western wear for her 2025 Cowboy Carter Tour.

It doesn’t stop with Bey, however, as several fans of Megan Thee Stallion attended her 2024 Hot Girl Summer Tour rocking anime costumes while Mary J. Blige supporters couldn’t help but wear their best boots to her 2025 For My Fans Tour.
