Young Thug Gets Blamed For YSL RICO, Labeled A “Rat” By YSL Cofounder

Young Thug’s ongoing legal saga took another dramatic turn this week, as one of his closest former allies publicly blasted him with accusations of being a “snitch.”

YSL Mondo, cofounder of the crew at the center of the Atlanta RICO case, took to Instagram Live to air his frustrations after speculation resurfaced over statements Thug allegedly gave to police in connection with the 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus.

Mondo didn’t mince words, claiming Thug was the first in YSL to talk to authorities. “Man, you the first ni**a to tell, buddy. You the first nia going in that motherf**ker talking to the police,” he said during the stream. “I ain’t going to keep beating around the bush. You the reason why the RICO started, buddy.”

He went on to accuse Thug of betraying the loyalty of those who had invested their time, energy, and trust into him. “You the biggest rat, you is a possum,” Mondo continued. “You ruined a lot of people’s lives down there, for real. That sh*t ain’t right.”

“You sunk the ship, my brother,” he added. “And it’s so crazy when I say you ruined so many people’s lives ‘cuz you had so many people like me investing my energy and investing so much into you, and love and loyalty into you that I put my own goddamn rap career on the back burner.”

Mondo also pushed back on the narrative that Gunna was the “rat” in YSL following his Alford plea and subsequent release in 2022. Instead, he argued that Thug deserves that label.

“You was the big rat,” he declared. “God is putting belt to your a** right now, boy, ‘cuz your career is through. What you going to rap about now?… The world know you was a rat.”

The diatribe closed with Mondo urging his former collaborator to seek redemption. “While you around here bullsh*tting, talking about ni**a that rat need to go gospel…boy, that’s what might save you,” he said. “Give your life to God the real way.”

The remarks come as Thug faces mounting scrutiny following leaked audio clips of him discussing the YSL RICO trial and voicing frustrations with Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Lil Durk, Migos, and Quality Control boss Pierre “P” Thomas. The fallout only adds more weight to the recent and ongoing legal battles of the parties involved.
