Tupac’s Brother Mopreme Slams Drake For Purchasing Death Row Records Chain

Drake and a portion of the West Coast continue to be at odds. Mopreme Shakur, brother of Tupac, recently slammed the 38-year-old rapper for purchasing the late rapper’s Death Row Records chain.
“My man need to think more about his moves,” Shakur said during an appearance on Loren Lorosa’s podcast The Latest. He questioned how the Toronto superstar would want to represent a Hip-Hop luminary, despite believing another region in the world was superior within the genre. “Because I just saw… in London, [he’s] talking about, ‘London got the best rappers. London rappers are better than American rappers.’ So why are you so seeking after the king of raps’ jewels, literal jewels? […] If England has the best rappers, why are you doing this?”
Ultimately, Mopreme believed that Pac’s artifacts should have never left the possession of his loved ones. “I think the family should have all of ‘Pac’s things, personally,” he added. “But things don’t always work out that way. My personal opinion, that’s what I feel.” Listen below.
Drizzy first showed off the Death Row Records chain in an Instagram post. He shared his excitement for the Copenhagen stop of the $ome $pecial $hows 4 U tour with PARTYNEXTDOOR by posting a classic photo of Pac wearing the chain, followed by photos that signified it was in his possession. The 6 God owning the West Coast rapper’s most prized possessions has been a point of contention for the last few years, especially at the height of his beef with Kendrick Lamar.
“Somebody had told me that you got a ring, on God, I’m ready to double the wage/ I’d rather do that than let a Canadian ni**a make Pac turn in his grave,” K. Dot rapped on “Euphoria.” The multi-time Grammy winner doubled down by showing off the crown ring he also purchased for over $1 million in the “Family Matters” music video.
His biggest offense, to some people, was his use of 2Pac’s voice on “Taylor Made Freestyle.” The record was never officially released; instead, it lived on X and Instagram before 2Pac’s estate sued him and forced it to be taken down. Many people believed this was disrespectful to the dead, and it was one of Drake’s missteps during the beef.
