GloRilla Responds To Felony Drug Arrest: “I Wasn’t Busted”

GloRilla shared her side of the story after news spread that the Memphis rapper was arrested on felony drug charges. The Grammy nominee took to X on Thursday (July 24) to explain what went down from her perspective during the alleged invasion of her property that resulted in her potentially facing charges.

“CRAZY,” she exclaimed to her millions of followers. “My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis.”

She continued to detail, “1. So no I wasn’t  busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn’t home Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested. So that’s tea.”

The 25-year-old was arrested on Tuesday on felony drug possession. The “Yeah Glo!” rhymer turned herself in and was released on $22,000 bond.

Her team called out law enforcement for the entire ordeal and claimed that although GloRilla was allegedly burglarized, the criminals were not pursued. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office responded after three people attempted to break into the Memphis rapper’s home and fled the residence after being shot at by a person inside. When police arrived and allegedly smelled illegal narcotics, they sought a search warrant.

In their search, police found “a significant amount of marijuana.”

“The arrest of Gloria Woods is a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become,” explained her lawyers, Marissa Goldberg and Drew Findling.

“Ms. Woods was out of town when her residence became a target for a group of home invaders who most likely knew she wasn’t there. What they didn’t know was that she had family staying with her that were traumatized by the violent entrance of this group who grabbed high value jewelry before taking off once they realized the home wasn’t vacant.”
