Summer Walker Confirms Breakup From Boyfriend Rico Recklezz

Summer Walker and Rico Recklezz‘s romance seems to have come to an end, as the Still Over It singer confirmed her single status in a few recent Instagram Stories.

While Walker kept details of the breakup under wraps, she dropped a cryptic message followed by a confirmation that said it all. “I like being girly and dainty. I don’t like nothing taking me out of that,” a meme she reposted read. She also added Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” lyrics: “All the single ladies. All the single ladies.”

Fans immediately took to social media after DJ Akademiks shared the post. One user joked, “My boi had a 10 day contract,” while another predicted, “Well she probably gonna start talking to somebody else.” A third person quipped, “She changes her mans more than she changes her underwear” as a fourth gave the take that, “she’s the problem.”

Walker quickly followed up with another post, urging fans not to “be weird” while rumors swirled suggesting she was dating Playboi Carti — following photos of them together in the studio.

“Yes I’m single but don’t be weird now yall,” she wrote. “I can’t even think about fu**kin [with] another man. I love Rico he really is a sweet man when he wants to be… that’s my pumkin for life, things just don’t align how we wanted cause we from two different worlds. Let’s move on now.” She also clarified why Carti was there, adding the caption: “Thank you Carti for pulling up to add a great finishing touch to my album, you were a perfect gentleman & your wife ia so sweet n funny.”

In another IG Story, Summer doubled down with, “I’m literally honestly & truly over men like that’s it for me, I find more peace being alone, but let’s normalize moving on with out mess. No disrespect. No hard feelings. No bad mouthing each other. Everything copasetic on my end, it’s all lessons n love.”

Earlier this year, Recklezz opened up about how he pursued Walker, admitting he’d been sliding into her DMs for years. “It damn near got stalker-ish. The only reason it didn’t get stalker-ish is because I kept going to jail,” he confessed in an interview with VladTV. He then recalled, “Then, one day, she finally [was] like, ‘You not finna stop, is you?’”

Their relationship seemed strong at one point, with Walker sharing heartfelt moments from their time together. In March, she posted several pictures of them on a luxurious yacht, expressing her gratitude for the lavish experiences Recklezz provided her.

“Ppl can say whatever they want but in 4 months he’s taken me on the nicest yacht I ever been on, the nicest hotel room I’ve ever seen, gave me the nicest Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had & I’m a rich girly so its really not much I haven’t seen. Like when I ask for something he really goes above & beyond to make it happen,” Walker wrote in a caption.

Meanwhile, Recklezz seems to be taking the breakup in stride.

On Thursday (May 8), he took to his Instagram Story to share a message of gratitude, writing, “I love my life an I love God so much. I’m so thankful n grateful ya’ll jus don’t [know] how blessed [and] favored I am [and] how good God is [praying hands emoji.”
