Rome Flynn Channels Frank Lucas In ‘Godfather Of Harlem’ Season 4 Trailer

Rome Flynn makes his Godfather Of Harlem debut as the notorious drug dealer Frank Lucas in the drama series. The actor joins Forest Whitaker who leads the award-winning television show as Bumpy Johnson, infamous kingpin. Additional leading actors include Ilfenesh Hadera, Lucy Fry, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Erik LaRay Harvey, Michael Raymond James, Elvis Nolasco, and Erik Palladino.

Season four picks up with Bumpy Johnson working to maintain his control of Harlem with a violent war against New York’s Mafia families while also dealing with the arrival of Frank Lucas to the city. He also must grapple with his daughter Elise’s (Antionette Crowe-Legacy) involvement with the Black Panthers after the assassination of Malcolm X.

Godfather Of Harlem is produced by 20th Television, the series is executive produced by Whitaker, as well as Chris Brancato, Paul Eckstein, Nina Yang Bongiovi, James Acheson, Markuann Smith, Ray Quinlan, Michael Panes, and Stephen Schiff. Rapper and producer Swizz Beatz serves as executive music producer.

“Denzel Washington famously played his character in American Gangster but there are no comparisons except that we’re both playing the same person,” shared Flynn with Deadline.

“We’re creating a more fully dimensional character that I feel films don’t have the luxury of [time] to portray which is a great thing. With TV, you get to show the intricacies and the complexity of not just who Frank was, but who he is at that point in his life while taking people on a journey along with him as he becomes the man everyone knows he becomes.”

He continued, “Now, I’m excited and grateful for this opportunity because it’s giving me the chance to step into a life like I’ve never done before.”

Season four of Godfather Of Harlem premieres on April 13, 2025 on MGM+ and the MGM+ app. The first three seasons are currently available to stream on MGM+ and Hulu. Watch the trailer above.
