DaBaby Fights To Dismiss $4M Bowling Alley Brawl Lawsuit

DaBaby is attempting to get an assault lawsuit filed against him dismissed. The August 2022 claim was filed by Brandon Bills, the brother of DaBaby’s ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh, and accused the rapper of assaulting him in a bowling alley.

Recent court documents obtained by InTouch, the “Suge” spitter requested for a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to throw the case out. According to the motion, DaBaby’s legal team is claiming Bills never successfully served DaBaby with the lawsuit. A judge had approved a newspaper publication to notify DaBaby, but Brandon allegedly failed to follow through.

The North Carolina rapper’s attorney also stated more than three years have passed since the lawsuit was filed, surpassing the legal timeframe for service.

“Brandon [Bills] commenced this baseless lawsuit on February 16, 2022. More than three years have passed, and Plaintiff has failed to serve [DaBaby],” the filing reads. “[Brandon] has not made one attempt at serving by publication. This is appalling, considering this Court issued an Order for Publication on April 10, 2024.”

This isn’t DaBaby’s first attempt at dwindling Bills’ case against him. Shortly after the news about the lawsuit broke, he dropped a song on YouTube titled “Lawsuit on a Wednesday” where he rapped: “He was gangsta before, now you suin’ me, huh?/ That tough s*, he don’t wanna do it no more/ Out the spot, ain’t want nothin’ to do wit’ the wh*re.” The release has since been deleted.
