Lil Wayne Satirizes His “Sensitive” Response To Super Bowl Halftime Show With Cetaphil Ad

Lil Wayne was notably disappointed following the news that Kendrick Lamar was selected to headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans. Many questioned his response, taking it as hate against the selected MC. While he later confirmed that he and K. Dot have since spoken about the show, wishing him well, he’s finessed the narrative of him being “sensitive” into a full blown Super Bowl ad.

The clip, which the rapper teased earlier this week, begins with Wayne sitting in a studio and being told that an unnamed entity is “going in another direction this time,” a clear reference to Lamar being chosen as the halftime show headliner. He then asks for the bottle of Cetaphil on the table, proceeds to pump a bit into his hands, and feels instant relief following the disappointing news. We then find the rapper interjecting himself into other scenarios where someone may need to address their “sensitivity” with a bit of the moisturizer made for sensitive skin.

A surprise also waits for fans towards the end of the clip, as Wayne explains that he’ll be skipping the Super Bowl to finish up his next album, Tha Carter VI, revealing a release date of June 6, 2025. Check out the full ad below ahead of its Super Bowl Sunday debut.

After claiming that the NFL’s decision to go with Lamar “hurt a whole lot,” and later saying he felt the performance was “ripped away from him,” Wayne told Skip Bayless that he’s since come to terms with the Compton native hitting the stage.

“I’ve spoken to [Kendrick], and I wish him all the best and I told him he better kill it.”

Super Bowl LIX takes place Sunday, February 9, in New Orleans. The pregame shows begins at 2 PM EST, with the game starting at 6PM EST on Fox.
