Damon Wayans Jr. Shares Only Complaint About Childhood: Michael Jordan Always Ate All Of His Snacks

Damon Wayans Jr. had a “dream” childhood, and he fully knows it. The son of the eldest Wayan recently shared a hilarious story about his “biggest complaint” from his early years of life: Michael Jordan would come over and constantly eat all of his snacks.

During an interview with PEOPLE, the Poppa’s House actor spoke about how amazing his upbringing was. “I always feel bad when I hear my friends talk about how hard their childhood was because I literally lived a dream childhood,” he said. “I’m sure all my siblings would agree that we were so incredibly privileged to have two parents who both agreed to never fight in front of the kids. We always had activities, we always had friends over.”

Then, he switched gears and spoke about the snacks his family always had in the household, and the selections were so amazing that the Chicago Bulls legend couldn’t get enough. “The snacks! We had so many snacks. Your snack game was off the chain,” Wayans Jr. said as he pointed to his dad. “Michael Jordan used to come over and eat all my snacks. That’s how good our snacks were, when Michael Jordan would be in there just munching on your snacks… he came over too much. Shoutout to Jordan, though.”

The My Wife And Kids actor also reflected on what it was like to enjoy having MJ in the house, but also make sure there were boundaries in place. “It was amazing to have him,” he remembered. “All my friends would come over not to see me, but hope they to a glimpse of Michael Jordan. One thing I really put foot down about was, don’t bother him. He moved in for the whole summer, and I only went over to the house once because he invited me in. Did the fan in me want to be there every day? Yes, ’cause I could see him from my window. ‘There he is, there he is, look look look!’”

His son confirmed the true story, as he added with a laugh, “I remember when he first moved in. You guys army crawled over to the window.”

The calm MJ flex didn’t go unnoticed. “The Wayans family should be celebrated for generations. But Damon’s branch of the family tree is just out right incredible lmfao,” one viewer replied on X. “This might be on the Mount Rushmore of flexes,” a user added as another credited the parents’ ability to give a great life to their children, writing, “The goal is to give the kids a better life than you had.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the Major Payne star spoke about being absent for the first few weeks of his son’s life. “I was too young to have a child… I couldn’t see myself with a kid,” he said. “I didn’t meet Jr. until he was like 5 weeks old.” They also react to family photos, reflect on working together, and more.
