Wiz Khalifa indicted for illegal drug use in Romania

Wiz was one of the protagonists of the “Beach, Please! Festival,” a huge music festival held in July in Costinesti, Romania. It was a mega event that took place from July 10th to 14th and featured more than 200 artists, including Travis Scott, Ice Spice, Chief Keef, Yeat and of course Wiz Khalifa.

The Pittsburgh rapper took the stage on July 13 and was then arrested and later released by Romanian authorities for smoking weed on stage, which is illegal in Romania. Regarding the matter, the Romanian police stated: “investigations revealed that during a performance at a music festival in the Costinești resort, in the county of Constanța, he possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis (a risky drug) and had consumed it another quantity on stage in the form of a hand-rolled cigarette.”

Wiz Khalifa also spoke about the arrest on X (Twitter) and expressed his gratitude to the police officers. “Last night’s show was incredible. I meant no disrespect to Romania by lighting a cigarette on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big joint next time.”

They did so on October 16 and if he is convicted of the charge, Wiz could have to serve a sentence behind bars, ranging from a minimum of three months to a maximum of two years.
