New Judge Assigned In Sean “Diddy” Combs Criminal Case

A new judge has been assigned to preside over the criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs.

According to CNN, on Thursday (Oct. 3), the case was reassigned to Judge Arun Subramanian, first nominated by President Joe Biden in 2022 and took the bench in 2023. The trial was previously assigned to Judge Andrew Carter, who was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2011.

Judge Subramanian is also ruling in the Department of Justice antitrust case against Ticketmaster, per Business Insider. Additionally, the new judge has allowed Combs’ legal team to push for bail a third time. Judge Carter twice denied releasing the Hip-Hop mogul and the ruling has been appealed.

Combs was arrested earlier this month and faces federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. The Harlem native also faces several lawsuits accusing him of rape, sexual assault, abuse, and more. Most recently, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee held a press conference on Tuesday, revealing he is representing 120 alleged victims with allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder.

“As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus,” attorney Erica Wolff shared in a statement.

“That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
