Method Man Asserts Diddy’s Downfall Has “Nothing To Do With Hip-Hop”

Method Man was recently stopped by TMZ on Thursday (Sept. 19) where he was asked his opinion on Diddy‘s ongoing allegations and if it will affect Hip-Hop.

Taken back by the question, Meth disagreed by saying he doesn’t believe Diddy’s alleged sex crimes have anything to do with an entire genre.

“I don’t think that it has anything to do with Hip-Hop,” he responded. “What are we talking about here, really. It has nothing to do with Hip-Hop. I don’t see the correlation.”

Explaining how a celebrity’s actions doesn’t always affect their music, the Wu-Tang vet drew a parallel between the Bad Boys CEO and R. Kelly. “If we’re talking about music and creative and stuff, there are people still listening to R. Kelly sh*t,” he said.

Diddy was arrested on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution on Monday night (Sept. 16). Since then, the music mogul has attempted to bail out twice, which he was denied both times.

Combs is currently facing charges after being accused of forcing participants into “Freak Off” sex parties with male escorts and recording the happenings. “Freak Offs were elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded,” his 14-page-indictment states.
