Kelsey Harris Speaks Out After Joe Budden Insinuates Tory Lanez Was Set Up In Shooting Case
Kelsey Harris has spoken out following Tory Lanez’s driver recently issuing a statement about the night of the Megan Thee Stallion shooting, and Joe Budden giving his take on the revelation.
Earlier this week, Budden discussed the driver’s stance on his podcast which detailed his recollection of the incident. The driver, Jauquan Smith, said he witnessed Harris holding a gun during the altercation and Lanez attempting to “disarm” her, but he did not see who exactly pulled the trigger.
Smith claimed that prosecution kept him from testifying during the trial.
Budden offered his own ideas about how the shooting went down, saying that he believes Lanez was set up with the gun. He also insisted that everybody involved in the shooting “has reason to lie.”
The rapper-turned-podcaster questioned the motives behind Lanez shooting Meg and if it would make more sense that Harris fired the gun.
“First of all, I think it’s above her,” he began. “I don’t think she made it up. It’s above her. She’s a mere pawn in this. This play is greater than her. She didn’t make nothing up. Ni**as out there know who it is. I ain’t saying it on this broadcast but I know exactly who it is, I know how that gun got there, I know who gun it was.”
The NJ native also declared, “Some people know whose gun it was… we know who’s gun that was. So he took her gun and shot her why? Why was he so mad?” He also claimed that Harris strangely reached out to him asking for him not to discuss the shooting anymore on his platform.
“I thought it was weird that the last time we talked about this sh*t Kelsey jumped in my DMs talking ’bout, ‘Hey, don’t talk about this no more.’ Why? You got immunity. That’s odd,” he recalled.
On Wednesday (July 31), Harris wrote on X, “It’s easy to get lost in the media. But let’s remember MY NAME was cleared by both parties involved. Stay tuned.”
Harris, who is Meg’s former best friend, has maintained her innocence since the 2022 trial where she was granted immunity.
