Kamala Harris Earns $200 Million In Donations And Gains 170,000 Volunteers During First Week On Campaign Trail

With only 100 days until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris has officially completed her first week on the presidential campaign trail.

Since announcing her run after President Joe Biden stepped out of the race, she’s already raised over $200 million in donations, according to the Associated Press.

Her campaign announced on Sunday (July 28) that 66 percent of its fundraising total stemmed from first-time contributors to the 2024 election cycle and were sent following Biden’s exit.

Finances aside, the Harris campaign also has over 170,000 volunteers who’ve signed up to aid with “phone banking, canvassing and other get-out-the-vote efforts.”

Michael Tyler, the campaign’s communications director, wrote in a statement, “The momentum and energy for Vice President Harris is real—and so are the fundamentals of this race: this election will be very close and decided by a small number of voters in just a few states.”

Compared to Trump, his campaign has a reported $281 million whereas Biden had raised $237 million for his former campaign.

Democratic funding organization ActBlue announced on Twitter/X that it processed over $100 million in donations since Biden’s reelection run ended, marking July 21 as their biggest fundraising day of the 2024 election cycle.

Harris has already made history with her raising $81 million within the first 24 hours of her campaign, making it the largest 24 hour fundraising effort in presidential history. During her formal proclamation, she used Beyoncé’s “FREEDOM,” has been endorsed by former first couple Barack and Michelle Obama, and when signing the forms to officially declare her candidacy for President, she took to Instagram writing, “I will work hard to earn every vote. And in November, our people-powered campaign will win.”
