Odell Beckham Jr. Claims “Justice Was Served” In Nike Lawsuit
Odell Beckham Jr. shared a celebratory statement following the jury verdict in his lawsuit against Nike. The star athlete took legal action against the sportswear company alleging it withheld millions of dollars, while Nike countersued, claiming Beckham had violated the terms of his contract.
According to HypeBeast, a Multnomah County Circuit Court jury decided that neither Nike nor OBJ breached their contracts and neither party was awarded any monetary damages.
“JUST DO……RIGHT,” exclaimed the Louisiana native in a post on Instagram, tagging Nike. “I wanna take this moment to thank God first and foremost thank you Heavenly Father. I wanna thank my team for every hour they have spent preparing on this case. I wanna thank the jury for simply doing what’s right in a world full of wrong… my message to whoever needs this is, STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN! JUSTICE WAS SERVED!!!”
“With this verdict, all of Mr. Beckham’s claims have been decided against him without any monetary award. The decision confirmed that Nike complied with its commitments. Nike is grateful to the jury and the Court for their careful attention to this case,” shared a representative from Nike in a statement to Complex.
The outlet reported the jury deliberated its decision for several hours.
The lawsuit, initially filed in November 2022, came after the Miami Dolphins wide receiver claimed Nike “made it nearly impossible for him to trigger very valuable extensions of the deal.” He also alleged Nike withheld a $2 million payment without warning, citing footwear and glove violations when he customized his equipment.
