Princess Love Announces Divorce From Ray J
Princess Love has announced she and Ray J are officially splitting up. The Love & Hip-Hop star filed for divorce on Monday (Feb. 26) in L.A. County, and this marks their fourth overall divorce filing.
Her open letter on Instagram began by explaining that they decided to split because they have grown apart. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce. After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways,” she wrote.
Ray J and Princess Love tied the knot in 2016 and share two children together, their daughter, Melody, and son, Epik. This most recent motion was filed by Princess Love. For their second and divorce attempt in 2020 and 2021, respectively, RJ was the one who filed. The mother of two filed the first attempt in spring 2020.
The model and fashion designer reiterated to readers that the decision was mutual and their priority will always be their children. “We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other’s well-being,” she continued. “While our relationship as spouses may be coming to an end, we remain committed to co-parenting our children and maintaining a positive family dynamic.”
She concluded her message by asking for privacy during this transitional time, writing, “We ask for your understanding, support, and respect for our privacy during this challenging time. We are grateful for the love and friendship we have received from each of you throughout our marriage, and we hope to continue nurturing those relationships in the future.”
In regards to what Ray J is up to, VIBE previously caught up with the entertainer at the 2023 Soul Train Awards to discuss what he’s working on. While teasing that he has music with both his sister, Brandy, and niece, Sy’Rai, in the vault, he also added, “We doing a Raydiation X anniversary album with ‘One Wish’ where we doing some stuff. A lot of collabs and s**t… That’s a refreshing release.”
